The former Charter Bank, based in Santa Fe, was closed effective January 22, 2010, by the Office of Thrift Supervision, and a newly formed subsidiary of Beal Financial Corporation, based in Plano, Texas, assumed the deposits from the FDIC acting as Receiver.
The bank reopened Monday, January 25, as a new bank based in Albuquerque, under the name Charter Bank. (Read more...)
